San Francisco | The Popular City Of United States
San Francisco authoritatively the City and County of San Francisco, is the heading money related and customary focus of Northern California and the San Francisco Bay Area. San Francisco was organized on June 29, 1776, when pilgrims from Spain built a stronghold at the Golden Gate and a mission named for St. Francis of Assisi a couple miles distant.
San Francisco is placed on the West Coast of the United States in the north part of the San Francisco Peninsula and incorporates huge extends of the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay inside its borders. Some islands—Alcatraz, Treasure Island and the adjoining Yerba Buena Island, and a humble allotment of Alameda Island, Red Rock Island, and Angel Island are part of the city. Likewise incorporated are the uninhabited Farallon Islands, 27 miles (43 km) offshore in the Pacific Ocean.
San Francisco is renowned worldwide for its knolls. There are more than 50 slopes inside city limits. Certain neighborhoods are named after the rise on which they are arranged, incorporating Nob Hill, Pacific Heights, and Russian Hill. Close to the geographic focal point of the city, southwest of the business district region, are a succession of less thickly populated slopes.
San Francisco's atmosphere is trademark of the cool-summer Mediterranean atmosphere of California's coast, "usually described by damp mellow winters and dry summers". Since it is encompassed on several sides by water, San Francisco's climate is emphatically affected by the cool flows of the Pacific Ocean, which direct temperature swings and produces a surprisingly gentle year-adjust atmosphere with small seasonal temperature variety.
